Departure (Day 5)

Day 1 – Arrival in Tanzania

• Location: Kilimanjaro International Airport → Arusha

• Activities:

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

  • Meet your safari guide and transfer to Arusha (≈1 hour drive, 50 km).

  • Overnight in Arusha; relax and prepare for safari.

Day 2 – Tarangire National Park

• Route: Arusha → Tarangire National Park

• Distance / Drive Time: ~120 km / 2–3 hours

• Highlights:

  • Morning departure from Arusha.

  • Full-day game drives: see large elephant herds, baobab trees, lions, giraffes, zebras, and birds.

  • Optional sundowner near the Tarangire River.

• Overnight: Safari lodge/camp near Tarangire or Karatu.

Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park

• Route: Tarangire / Karatu → Lake Manyara National Park → Karatu

• Distance / Drive Time: ~80 km / 2 hours

• Highlights:

  • Early morning departure for Lake Manyara.

  • Game drives in forested park and lakeside areas.

  • Spot flamingos, hippos, elephants, and the famous tree-climbing lions.

• Overnight: Karatu lodge/camp.

Day 4 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

• Route: Karatu → Ngorongoro Conservation Area → Karatu / Arusha

• Distance / Drive Time: ~60 km / 1–1.5 hours to crater rim

• Highlights:

  • Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim.

  • Descend into the crater for a half- or full-day game drive.

  • Witness one of Africa’s most famous wildlife landscapes: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and hippos.

  • Scenic views from the rim.

• Overnight: Karatu or Arusha lodge.

Day 5 – Departure

• Route: Arusha → Kilimanjaro International Airport

• Distance / Drive Time: ~50 km / 1 hour

• Activities:

  • Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound flight.
